A Lifesaving Gift

Breast milk is the most nourishing option for babies, especially for premature or ill infants who benefit the most. Donor milk plays a crucial role in providing these infants with the essential nutrients they need to thrive. Research shows that babies receiving donor milk instead of formula experience:

  • Lower rates of life-threatening conditions
  • Fewer infections and hospitalizations
  • Improved growth and overall health

As a breastfeeding mother, your extra milk can make a profound difference. Just one ounce of your donated milk can provide up to three NICU feedings, making a lasting impact on fragile newborns.

The Andrew County Health Department Mother’s Milk Depot works in partnership with the Oklahoma Mother’s Milk Bank. The Oklahoma Mother’s Milk Bank follows the strict guidelines set by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) to ensure that all milk is safely processed, pasteurized, and distributed to babies in need.
