Food Establishment Inspection Reports
The Andrew County Health Department conducts food service inspections under the authority of the Andrew County Food Service Ordinance. This Ordinance sets forth standards by which sources of food, food service establishments, food service personnel, and food service equipment are regulated to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Critical items relate directly to factors which lead to Foodborne illness, these items must receive immediate action. Non-critical items relate to the maintenance of food operations and cleanliness, these items are to be corrected by the next regular inspection.

Jesse’s Last Stop, 12751 Country Place Dr., St Joseph, MO 64505. Re-inspection. Non-Critical: Deep freeze dirty.
The Kitchen, 1605 W Hwy 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. Critical: To-go containers, silverware and coffee cups stored on dirty surfaces, raw meat about biscuits in freezer. Non-Critical: freezer, air purifier, can rack, cleaning spray bottle, metal shelves, light shields, vent wall cover and exhaust fan in men’s restroom dirty, inadequate lighting in men’s restroom, closet cluttered.
Family Dollar, 202 S Hwy 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. Critical: eggs stored above ready to eat food in dairy cooler-corrected, several cans dented along seam- corrected, water fountain dirty. Non- Critical: floor dirty throughout, stained ceiling tiles, some shelves dusty.
Stop & Go, 304 N HWY 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. Critical: inside ice machine dirty, ice scoop, cups and lids stored on dirty surface. Non-Critical: Ceiling tiles missing, broken, stained or dirty, floors, coolers, outside of ice machine, exhaust fan, trash can, baseboards, fan guards, bucket for cooler drain, coke pop nozzles (marked as out of order) and cabinets and drawers dirty, missing parts of floor tiles, hole in wall, cleaning rags not stored in sanitizer, no sanitizer test strips, unnecessary clutter, no hot water.
New China One Buffet, 202 N HWY 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. Critical: Food items not held at 135degrees or above for hot foods and 41 degrees or below for cold foods at buffet and prep cooler, drinking ice being used to keep food items cold, pop nozzles, surface with to-go containers, utensil bins, clean dish racks, ice machine, slicer, rice cookers, microwave, prep cooler and walk in cooler with exposed food items dirty, no sanitizer being used on food contact surfaces, mouse droppings found, unclean containers being used for cooking process, pan for cooking stored on floor under cooking area, no date-marking on ready to eat potentially hazardous foods, bare hand contact with ready to eat foods and eating utensils, produce not washed prior to use and dirty utensil stored on dry food item. Critical: Grab and go cooler above 41degrees, mouse droppings seen (pest control previously called), non- fully enclosed, tamper resistant traps used for pest control, lid holder dirty, no air gap in drain for ice machine. Non-Critical: counter tops, milkshake machine (out of order), cabinets, floors, vents, exhaust fans, freezer and storage shelving dirty.
