Food Establishment Inspection Reports

 

The Andrew County Health Department conducts food service inspections under the authority of the Andrew County Food Service Ordinance. This Ordinance sets forth standards by which sources of food, food service establishments, food service personnel, and food service equipment are regulated to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Critical items relate directly to factors which lead to Foodborne illness, these items must receive immediate action. Non-critical items relate to the maintenance of food operations and cleanliness, these items are to be corrected by the next regular inspection.

St Joseph Country Club, 50 Ridgeland Rd, Country Club, MO 64505. Complaint. 11/03/2016. Critical: Mouse droppings found throughout kitchen and food storage areas- signed pest control maintenance contract with special inspections for current infestation provided, food items not being protected from pest infestation, no staff with food safety training present, improper pest control devices used in kitchen area, food contact surfaces being cleaned with all purpose cleaner, not being sanitized.  Non-Critical: Outer areas unprotected from pests throughout facility, some damaged walls, complaint states cat was being used for pest control- cat not found on premises, evidence of cat was present and disposed of.

Non-Critical: Back door has areas that are unprotected from pests. – Exclusion contract completed by pest control company to seal facilities outer openings.

Avenue City Grocery, 18172 Hwy 169, Cosby, MO 64436. Routine. 11/22/2016. Critical: Deli cooler temping above 41degrees or below, some potentially hazardous ready to eat foods have no 7-day date-mark, sanitizer too strong, dairy cooler temping above 41degrees or below, inside ice machine dirty. Non-Critical: Some floors dirty, men’s restroom dirty, no lid on women’s trash can.

Avenue City Grocery, 18172 Hwy 169, Cosby, MO 64436. Re-inspection. 11/29/2016. Everything Corrected.

Jesse’s Last Stop #2, 503 N HWY 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. 11/17/2016. Critical: Dead insects found, cold unit not temping at 41degrees or below, dirty ice machine, unlabeled toxin, sanitizer too strong. Non-Critical: Dumpster lids open, fan-guards dirty, some dirty ceilings, cold unit dirty, some floors dirty, hole in wall, some walls dirty, no sanitizer test strips, stained ceiling tiles, damaged floors, dirty light shield.

Jesse’s Last Stop #2, 503 N HWY 71, Savannah, MO 64485. Re-inspection. 11/22/2016. Critical: Ice machine dirty- corrected Non-Critical: Hole in wall, wall dirty, stained ceiling tiles, damaged flooring.

Savannah R-3 Amazonia Elementary, 845 6th St., Amazonia, MO 64421. Routine. 11/17/2016. Critical: Pest control device being used improperly, dead insect found. Non-Critical: Some floors dirty, dirty ceiling fan.

Savannah R-3 High School, 701 E Williams St., Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. 11/22/2016. Critical: Hot food item not heated or held at proper temperature- corrected, mouse droppings found in snack shack area- new pest control devices put down during inspection and proof of pest control inspection within 2 weeks shown. Non-Critical: Some floor dirty, wall in Snack Shack peeling.

Savannah R-3 John Glenn, 12401 County Road 438, Country Club, MO 64505. Routine. 11/17/2016. Critical: Dirty can opener- corrected. Non-Critical: Some floors dirty, missing light-shield, hole in ceiling.

Savannah R-3 Middle School, 10500 State Route T, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. 11/17/2016. Non-Critical: Wall not smooth and easily cleanable.

Savannah R-3 Minnie Cline, 808 W Price, Savannah, MO 64485. Routine. 11/17/2016. Critical: Staff food stored above facility food- considered chance of contamination. Non-Critical: Fan-guard dirty, dumpster lid open.

Savannah R-3 Helena Elementary, 21080 Osage St., Helena, MO 64459. Routine. 11/15/2016.  Critical: Can opener dirty- corrected, mouse droppings found- licensed pest control inspection made available. Non-Critical: Stained ceiling tile, food debris in some cabinets, outside of cold unit dirty.

Avenue City R-9, 18069 HWY 169, Cosby, MO 64436. Routine. 11/15/2016. Non-Critical: Excessive ice build-up in freezer, shelf dirty.

Jesse’s Last Stop #3, 1073 HWY 71, Bolckow, MO 64427. Re-inspection. 11/10/2016. Non-Critical: Stained ceiling tiles throughout, damaged floor tiles, some floor dirty, wall damaged, cold unit shelving has excessive food debris, inside cold unit- floor dirty. 

Rea’s One Horse Grocery, Bait and Tackle, 177 Bean St., Rea, MO 64480. Re-inspection. 11/10/2016. Everything Corrected.

The Junction, 6113 N Belt HWY, St Joseph, MO 64506. Re-inspection x2. 11/3/2016. Everything Corrected. 

Union Star, 9031 HWY 169, Union Star, MO 64494. Routine. 11/22/2016. Critical: Dirty shelving used as food contact surfaces, hot food not held at 135degrees or above, live and dead roaches seen throughout, medication and food stored intermingled, cold unit temping above 41degrees, hot food not cooled properly before putting into cold unit, uncooked eggs stored above ready to eat foods. Non- Critical: Ceiling vents dirty, some floors dirty and damaged, some cabinets dirty, some walls dirty, torn booth seats, no cold water at hand sink, under microwave dirty, outside of cold unit dirty, some shelving dirty, cart dirty.
